About the Commercial Department
The Commercial Department at Yoco is the acquisition and revenue engine of Yoco. Our team works at the intersection of where Yoco’s technology meets the real world. We are responsible for growing the Yoco brand both inside and outside our company walls.

About the role
As Senior Google and SEO Specialist your goal is to acquire new merchants through paid media channels. This goal is achieved through strategically placed and creatively designed online marketing campaigns.

What you will be doing
Google:
Build out and manage Acquisition strategies across Search, Discovery, YouTube, App, and Google Merchant Centre with budgets exceeding R30m per annum.
Accountability for maintaining, monitoring, and building out the account, and managing daily and monthly budget caps, impression share, quality score and other important account metrics.
Utilise automation (when appropriate) and continuously optimise bid strategies, CTR, Conv Rates and CPA.
Manage experimentation across channels, and inform landing pages and creative development.
Work with the Creative, Brand marketing and Product Marketing teams to create aligned consumer communications across all channels.
Upskill Display Manager on Google campaigns.
Generate weekly and monthly reporting for all key metrics, KPIs and learnings.
Stay abreast with all technical and content advances in the world of Google and other online marketing channels to bring thought leadership and fresh, innovative developments to our product and marketing growth strategy.
SEO & ASO:
Perform keyword research
Develop and execute SEO strategies
Optimise on-site content and build an effective linking strategy
Analyze data, build monthly reports, and provide insights
Test websites across browsers, operating systems and devices
Optimise loading speeds and capacity and debug pages
Develop App Store Optimization (ASO) strategies to ensure that all Yoco apps appear at the top of the search results in applicable App stores
Optimize conversion rates for App download pages by utilizing various content and visual tools
About you
Google:
7+ years of running Search, YouTube, Discovery, Google Merchant Centre, Google App campaigns.
Strong understanding of customer buying behaviours, segmentation and profiling.
Excellent working knowledge of web analytics tools and the ability to analyze data from multiple sources.
Technical knowledge and implementation of tracking scripts/pixels.
Technical knowledge and implementation of the different types of remarketing strategies.
Excellent analytical, organizational, project management and time management skills.
Data analysis and quantification skills - able to analyse the performance of campaigns and gather insights from this analysis to improve future performance
SEO & ASO:
Knowledge of web analytics and SEO
A basic understanding of how CSS and JS relate to SEO
Familiarity with web standards
Working knowledge of website management tools
Google Search Console
Bing Webmaster Tools
Proficient in HTML/HTML5/CSS, XML; knowledge of SQL and Javascript is preferred
Advanced understanding of HTML/HTML5
Experience with ranking software such as SEMRush, SERankings, Conductor Searchlight or Raven
Experience with reporting tools such as Google Data Studio
CMS experience with WordPress and StoryBlok
E-commerce platform experience with platforms such as WooCommerce, Magento, or Shopify
